Week 04 Cannon

  1. I'm confused how the wheels work. One side looks like wood while the other looks like stone with no seam between the two.

  2. really nicely done! I think the style is really crisp!

  3. On the wheel the side look like wood planks but the outer edge of the wheel is just flat and not wood-y. Also the cannon could use more texture.

  4. I love your wood grain a ton, it's super detailed and looks very nice. Unfortunately I'm not seeing as much love on the barrel so I would focus on that this week. Also the wheels being made out of planks looks a bit odd, I would rather see rings on it like the tree was cut there and the woodworker is already using the natural cylindricalness of the tree instead of forcing the circular shape using planks.

  5. Hi Willow! Your cannon looks awesome! The detail on the base is especially well made. I recommend adding a bit more wear/noise to the end of the cannon to spice it up even more.

  6. I love the sculpt for the most part, but I think the render quality needs to be a little bit sharper, like it's a tiny bit soft/blurry.

  7. I love the wood details and the overall sculpt details, but the wood and the metal part doesn't have the same amount of details. Adding more scratch marks or worn out details would make them look harmonized. Great work!

  8. Wow this sculpt came out excellent, great primary secondary and tertiary details. The wood especially has a ton of juice to it. The only things I'm noticing are the barrel which looks like it got tweaked a bit and mangled (which could be what you were going for) and also some of the parts of the wheels look like they are bleeding into one another.

  9. Nice variation on wood grains. Separation between wood and metal on wheels is missing. Would like to see more details on metal next round.

  10. The concept of your cannon looks nice. I would have loved to have seen a reference image, or images where you got your inspiration. The wood grains of the body for the cannon look great! You can see some of the wear and tear.

  11. This looks amazing! The only thing I'd say is on the wheels add some sort of separation between the different materials and on the wooden part between the front two wheels add more wood detail to match the rest of the wood detail.

  12. I think your wood sculpting is AMAZING dude, the harsh edges you made also look really nice. My only critique is to maybe make the scratch lines on the cannon a little deeper.

  13. Hey Willow, I love the wood work of your sculpt, One thing that I would recommend is to separate line work in some of the areas in the wheel and axel, I also would make the shadows in your render a little more softer. Great job tho!!

  14. Overall really cool sculpt. Some details on the wheel are funky? Need a transition form stone to wood. The cannon could use a little bit of damage to match the wood since it's so beat up.

  15. I really liked the overall wood sculpt. Shadows seems to be a bit strong, presentation wise. Good job, overall.

  16. I like the amount of detail that you put into the cannon. The amount of work that you put into the wooden parts look great. The octopus is awesome. I think you could push this further by adding more detail to the barrel of the cannon
